ABOUT US
Insurance Agents Association, SAB, was established by a group of agents in 1987. The association had quite a contribution to the restructuring of the insurance business during the transition period of the sector in the context of liberalization of Turkish economy.
Initiated by the General Assembly held in 2004 SAB began establishing branches and liasion offices throughout the country for a stronger and more effective non-governmental organization.
The association attends and actively participates in the organization of panels, meetings, TV/radio programmes, domestic & international workshops, business travels, etc with the aim to reach new members that would share the common objectives of SAB and moreover that would increase consciousness & contribution to the development of the insurance sector
The targets that SAB sets to achieve for the next several years are a) to open-up a bilingual Insurance High School to supply education for those interested in the insurance business; b) to contribute to the negotiations with the EU especially on matters concerning the legislative adaptation and implementation; c) to establish strong and durable relations with the insurance establishments abroad to share information and knowledge to secure to keep-up with the possible developments on both sides.
Regular meetings of SAB Board of Directors are held on Tuesdays. The insurance agents (and even other intemediaries), whether members of the association or not, may attend these meetings whenever they want to and may participate in the discussions. All kinds of complaints of the customers, agents and other members of the society about the insurance sector are openly discussed,registered and answered as soon as possible.
www.sab.org.tr is the portal of our association (SAB) which includes news, codes of laws, researches, articles and opinions about the insurance sector. There is also information about the press and the workshops, meetings and organizations that serves an important role in the communiation of our members. Registered number of members to this web site is around 1860.
The vital and urgent information that is to reach to our members (and non-members in many cases) , which is nearly 2000 people, are sent via SMS.
We have two office clerks on our payroll for ordinary clerical and secreterial needs of the main office located in Mecidiyeköy,İstanbul. Ankara and Bursa Branches carry on activities in their own offices.
SAB is a member of The Turkish Civil Society Platform which is leaded by Economic Development Foundation in Turkey; and represented The Turkish Insurance Intermediaries in Bruxelles at The European Civil Society Platform in 2004
